Eddie has a BA(Hons) at the University of Pretoria in Theatre and Films Studies (2009). Student productions include Arthur Miller’s The Crucible as John Proctor and Peter Schaffer’s AMADEUS. In 2010 he appeared on 7de Laan as a guest artist and landed his first featured role as Braam Rademan in the Afrikaans feature film Roepman (2011). Eddie discovered his humorous side and was the marketing face for the first annual Comic’s Choice Awards (2010/2011). He was part of the management staff at Brooklyn Theatre in 2010 where he directed from operettas to music variety shows.
In 2013 Eddie made a career shift into the experimental world of film and theater and taught at Die Hoërskool Menlopark as part of the BlouTeater team. In 2014 he appeared in Pad na jou hart, Scandal! on eTV and 2015 in Ballade vir ‘n Enkeling. Out of these ventures has grown the 2014 Kyknet Silwerskermfees film ‘n Liefdeslobotomie and the 2015 FTMA Sacred Heart University jury prize winner for best picture The Star Gazers, as Fritz, male lead. He currently stars in the 2015 film Suiderkruis as Juan van Zyl, the male lead, for the recently found Cross Kine distribution group. In 2016 he will appear in local war drama My Father’s War as Roberto, a soldier in the special forces of the old South African Army.
