Originally from Port Elizabeth, Ashleigh is a talented, dedicated and well-rounded actor, singer and dancer. She completed her National Diploma in Musical Theatre at Oakfields College in Pretoria, received a distinction for her Trinity ATCL Diploma in Musical Theatre Performance, and is currently completing an Honours Degree in Art History. Throughout her 3 years of study, she was privileged enough to play the female romantic leads in both “Spring Awakening” (directed by Harold Mortimer), and “Hot Mikado”.
Her professional theatre credits include “Dawid” and “Liefling” at the State Theatre, the Naledi Award winning family musical “African Adventure”, both the Cape Town and Johannesburg seasons of the Fugard Theatre’s “Rocky Horror Show”, “Shrek – The Musical” (dance captain) and the pantomime “Puss in Boots” at the Lyric Theatre, as well as the Wales Millennium Centre’s world premiere of “Tiger Bay”. She also appeared in the new ad campaign for Maggi Senses – a humorous online web-series. Later this year, she is thrilled to be a part of the cast of “Rock of Ages” at the Lyric Theatre. In her spare time, she thoroughly enjoys working as a casting assistant and editor, songwriting, and hanging out with other people’s dogs.
