Anré Roux is a unconventional beauty hailing from the small town of Upington in the Northern Cape. When she’s not acting, dancing or singing you can find Anré dune surfing or riding her favorite farm horse, Aardvark, into the Kalahari, or whizzing around on the back of a motorbike. She’s also not bad with a fishing rod much to her father’s dismay, catching bigger fish than him.
After school Anré moved to the big city to chase her dream of being a performing artist. Her home language is Afrikaans, but she can also speak English. She is a life enthusiast. She knows what she wants and is willing to do whatever it takes.
She also has 2 international qualifications in Musical theatre. An ATCL diploma from Trinity London 2014 and a LTCL degree 2016 both completed at Michelle Ayden Dramatix. She is always prepared to go the extra mile and she’s a fast learner.
She values good theatre, and her favorite South African theatre actress is none other than the legendary Fiona Ramsay. Her all-time favorite show is Black and Blue by Sylvaine Strike and dreams of working with her one day. Recommended by the respected choreographer Wayne Bester (krone 2, 3) she had the opportunity to feature in an Afrikaans TV series called Sterlopers 2 as a dancer working with Leani van Niekerk and Marlee van der Merwe. She was blessed to be stage manager for a Barry van Rensburg production called Balle in die lug which went to the 2016 Aardklop festival with a cast including Roul Beukes, Hannes Brummer, Cindy Swanepoel and Je-ani Swiegelaar under the direction of the amazingly talented Cobus Venter.
She has just booked her first tour as a cast member of a Productions 2000 show going to Durban.
Anré is aiming to be a major force to be reckoned with in the South African film and TV arena as well as on the stage. Tall order? Luckily she is 1.72 meter.
